S&T was responsible for the full design and specification of building services engineering for a two-storey medical centre serving the Rodney region. This included energy systems, electrical services (lighting, power, UPS, and medical protection), air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (theatre and sterile areas), hydraulics (heating, steam, boilers, and piped gas), and specialist hospital services such as medical gas supply. Security, data/communications, access controls, CCTV, public address, nurse call systems, lifts, and built-in equipment for essential hospital functions were also integrated.
Designed by Warren and Mahoney, the facility houses general practitioner offices, a pharmacy, and retail space on the first floor, while the second floor, operated by Southern Cross, includes three operating theatres, recovery areas, patient rooms, and hospital support services.
